Echos of Eldritch Major Players: Agravaine Bellarad

Well Met Travelers,

Welcome to another of my world building sessions. Last week, I posted about Nephilim and Faustlings, the people of the world who share a lineage with angels and demons.

Last Time I shared one of my People of Antediluvian posts, I shared the Ivory.Queen's First Character, Thia Shattersoul.

This week, I want to discuss another of the Members of the Brotherhood of the Whispering Ring, Agravaine Bellarad.

Agravaine Bellarad
Agravaine Bellarad was born well over one thousand years ago to the Ballarad noble family of Ioshon's city of Dragon burn. He lived a normal life as a noble. He was arrogant, brash, and self-righteous. He loved living in luxury, which is what allowed him to fall into the seductions of the Court at Velocifort.

Velocifort is one of the seats of power for the Vampires of Antediluvian. Agravaine fell for the sweet promises and Luxuries provided by these undead creatures; he was promised more if he joined them. Being young and naive, Agravaine took the offer and was transformed into a vampire. Afraid of what he had become, Agravaine returned home under the cover of darkness, hoping that he could escape from his new curse somehow.

When he returned home, he was panicked, fidgety, and starved. His family tried to care for him, but just being around them was driving him mad because he could hear the blood flowing through their veins. In the end, Agravaine ended up killing his entire family, leaving himself as the only member of the Bellarad family.

Aggrieved of what he had done, Agravaine fled his hometown. Just as with any other vampire, the Hunter's Covenant (a guild of monster hunters) was brought in to hunt down this creature. It took them decades to find Agravaine, and when they did, they also killed his mate. Enraged, Agravaine killed many hunters before he was weakened through blood magic, chained in silver, staked through the heart, and buried deep beneath the earth. He remained there for roughly a thousand years.

Just about the time that the rest of the brotherhood had risen and killed a few of the Great Wyrms, Agravain was freed from his prison by some unknown force. Agravain rose up from the earth and eventually joined up with the Brotherhood. With help, he learned to control his hunger.

After the fall of the Dragons, Agravaine saw no place for himself among the living, and continuous pursuit from the Hunter's Covenant drove him to the Icy Wastes of Blesthurm. Once in the Northlands, Agravaine would establish the guild of thieves and Assassins known as Ouroboros. He runs the guild from his throne of frost and crystal, emerging only when he feels like it; he rarely answers the call of other members of the Brotherhood.

Agravaine is a male Faustling with bright red skin and black eyes which enhances his vampiric appearance. He dresses in the most lavish leather armor that money can buy. His long black hair runs about halfway down his back.

Agravaine is extremely arrogant and sarcastic; he always seems to have a witty and sexual retort to anything said to him. This is a facade, used to hide his grief at the loss of his loved ones. Tragedy seems to follow Agravaine everywhere, for any creature with whom he falls in love always seems to end up dead through tragic circumstances. He is Pansexual and can find love in any sex or gender, so he seeks one with whom he can spend eternity.
