The Planescape: Elysium
Well Met Travellers,
Welcome to another of my Worldbuilding Sessions. Last week, I covered Araqar, Antediluvian's Hell. In this week's entry, I will be discussing the Heavenly plane of Elysium.
This plane is the realm of the Gods and the main location for the souls of the deceased. While Araqar claims the souls of those who somehow lost their soul to a demon, Elysium claims the souls of worshipers of the Gods.
This plane is composed of a series of Demiplanes which are the Domains of each of the Gods, and as such, I will discuss the domains in detail by discussing them through the Gods.
Evelune
One of the High Triumvirate, Evelune, the deity of Life, is depicted as a human woman with Silver-Gold hair and large, white, feathery wings. She is the creator of most things good, healer of the weak and injured, and hater of evil. She is worshiped among most races, and her priests are welcome in most settlements.
She is the sister of Nekros and Abbot.
Evelune is seen as a healer and a nurturer of life. She does not enjoy having to extinguish life, but when deemed necessary, she will bring her wrath down on evil.
`
Daratrine is the Elven god. He appears as an elf in ceremonial elven armor carrying a harp shaped like a bow. He is everything an elf is taken to the tenth degree (i.e. more graceful, more elegant, etc.)
He is the creator of elves and fights for everything important to them. His harp acts like a bow but using music as its ammunition.
Obo is a compassionate God, who cares for those who are often too weak to care for themselves. He is jolly and loves the company of others. He appears to others as a well-rounded Halfling or Gnome with a jolly disposition. He has brown hair and emerald green eyes. He dresses in the clothes of an innkeeper.
Obo is opposed to any conflict. He will defend anyone who he feels is incapable of taking care of themselves. He sees weakness and tends to it with compassion. He will stand in the way of any god who would dare harm the innocents. He is not a very powerful god, and he often is incapable of completely stopping other gods.
Arman is a middle-aged dwarf with black hair and a thin streak of silver running through his beard. He is the master of Artisans and Blacksmiths. He appears dressed in the work clothes of a Smith/artisan or in the clothes of a dwarf noble. He is known for his compassion and care for all natural creatures of the world. He created dwarves in his image. They take after his personality, so they accept him as their patron.
Arman is a craftsman. He loves to create and tends to the creations of other gods. He despises all things unnatural (i.e. Undead, abominations). He feels that they do not belong in the world. He understands the balance of the Universe, but he likes good things more than evil, thus dwarves tend towards neutrality and good more than evil. He focuses on creation and craftsmanship.
Jerrat appears as an elf with brown hair interwoven with moss and a beard made of moss. He adorns himself in the garb of a druid (a long green toga-like thing), and according to all accounts he is the first of the Druids and he presented the power to the druids of old (Known Today as Arch-druids).
Jerrat is the Lord of nature. He loves nature and hates anything that seeks to disrupt the balance of nature. Jerrat wants to keep civilization from completely overtaking nature.
He and his Druids fight to protect the wonders of nature and crush those who would seek to ruin it.
Illista
Illista appears as a human female with raven black hair. She is good tempered and always willing to have a laugh. She adorns herself in leather armor, dyed black. Her attitude is pleasant. She enjoys a joke, but will not hesitate to lift your purse if she sees an opening.
Illista doesn’t care much for the bickering of all of the other gods, nor does she care about the balance of the Universe. She does as she pleases; sometimes that means actively helping the cause of good and sometimes it means hurting the cause of good. She mostly cares about having a good time and acquiring valuable objects. (I.e. gold)
Her realm is a busy city with crowded streets, much like festival season. This provides her worshipers a place to hone their skills, should the need arise to send them on errands into the world again.
Lyath
Lyath is a Female Human with orange-red hair. She dresses in a long, Silver dress of elven make. She constantly is mediating the never ending conflict between her Siblings.
Lyath leans toward peace over any conflict. She hates war and battle, finding it barbaric and immoral. This comes from the fact that she is the mediator for her brothers. She finds that talking and politics are a better solution.
Nekros is the third god in the High Triumvirate. He appears in many forms: the reaper of souls, the Executioner, The Dark Lord, the Shadow, the hooded man, the beggar, The Deal Maker, the shepherd of lost souls, and the heretic.
Nekros, unlike his sister, is death incarnate. He is an oddly kind God. He is the shepherd of the dead, acting as a guide to souls who are beyond redemption. He cares for them as if they were a wayward flock. He does not actively seek death, rather he is a guide for the dead, showing them that death is just a new beginning.
His realm is a moor in which the souls that come to him wander, the souls of his true worshipers travel and revel in their state of existence.
Bugrash is the orc king. He created orcs to be the kin of ogres. He ensures that his chosen creatures are not destroyed. He most often appears as an orc with large tusks, gray hair, and a gray braided beard. His eyes are blood red. He is a berserker and blood crazed.
Bugrash forces his followers to stay in tune with nature. He encourages battle and fighting to promote the strongest warriors and weed out the weak. He forbids his followers from using arcane magic for fear that what happened to ogres will happen to them.
His realm is a battlefield where the Orcs can rend and tear each other to pieces. The sound of war horns and beasts of battle echo across the open grassless fields.
Belgroch
Belgroch is the god of trickery. He loves disrupting the balance that Abbot is so eager to create. He appears as a man without a face. He wears masks in place of his face. He dresses as a Harlequin.
He asks that his followers seek to sow discord and chaos because it is fun for him. The best and most fun occurrences happen, in his opinion, because the other gods had no chance to foresee them.
His realm is a theater in which his followers practice the theatrical arts to trick and deceive and create the most astounding dramas.
Miraleen appears to be a dark elf with silver hair. She is called the Queen of Ravens and Corruption, for she never creates anything. She only corrupts the creations of other gods, preying upon them as a Raven does a freshly fallen corpse.
Her realm falls adjacent to the Moor of Nekros. It is just as bleak and barren but is a haven for her "creations" and those who have been marked by curses and the like.
Slate is a tall construction of metal, stone, and wood. She is the only mortal to ascend to godhood. She is the goddess of living constructs, collecting the souls of those who for a long time were considered soulless.
Her realm is a clockwork mimicry of Antediluvian, providing haven for creatures who tend not to belong in the mortal realm.
I know that this post was not as substantial as last time, but This is something that I am still working on. When I have enough information for another post, I will publish it, but for now, this is Elysium.
That's all for this time,
Farewell and Safe Journeys, Travelers.

She is the sister of Nekros and Abbot.
Her Domain is how most would picture the typical, Judeo-Christian Heaven, a Place of light and clouds where every need is met, and suffering is unknown.
Cameroth
Cameroth is the Lord of all of Dragon Kind. He embodies both the nobility of Good Dragons and the greed of Evil dragons. He is worshiped by both Dragons and their kin as the Prime Deity. He appears In many forms, often as a half dragon with Gold or Red scales; he will, however, take any humanoid form of good or neutral races. He always wears armor that shifts through the colors of all dragons.
He tends to stay neutral in debates between his kin.
His realm is a large mountain range with many places for dragons to lair and roost, as well as a citadel in Which the Dracons (Dragonborn) can dwell.
Daratrine
Daratrine is the Elven god. He appears as an elf in ceremonial elven armor carrying a harp shaped like a bow. He is everything an elf is taken to the tenth degree (i.e. more graceful, more elegant, etc.)
He is the creator of elves and fights for everything important to them. His harp acts like a bow but using music as its ammunition.
His realm is a vast forest in which all elves can find a paradise within. The trees are so dense that one can scarcely see through them. This realm is nature at its uninterrupted status.
Obo
Obo is opposed to any conflict. He will defend anyone who he feels is incapable of taking care of themselves. He sees weakness and tends to it with compassion. He will stand in the way of any god who would dare harm the innocents. He is not a very powerful god, and he often is incapable of completely stopping other gods.
His realm is a large village with very friendly people. I think of it very much like Hobbiton from the Lord of the Rings Novels, but not built into the hillsides.
Abbot
Another of the High Triumvirate, Abbot is the god of knowledge and balance. He appears as a man of very nondescript features. If seen, no one ever remembers anything about him other than his matter-of-fact, emotionless, calming voice. He is the embodiment of the universal balance. He only interferes in the world to ensure nothing becomes too powerful (i.e. good, evil, law, or chaos).
He created humanity to embody his balance, a race whose members could be good or evil, lawful or chaotic.
He also loves knowledge because it just is. It is not good, not evil, not lawful, nor chaotic.

He also loves knowledge because it just is. It is not good, not evil, not lawful, nor chaotic.
His realm is a mirror of Antediluvian but in perfect harmony. There is no conflict. It is the world how Abbot imagines that it should be. The balance that he works so hard for exists in his realm.
Arman
His realm is a great compound in which all manner of crafts can be undertaken and all dwarves have a chance to pursue and improve their craft under the supervision of the Greatest Craftsman in the Universe.
Jerrat
Jerrat is the Lord of nature. He loves nature and hates anything that seeks to disrupt the balance of nature. Jerrat wants to keep civilization from completely overtaking nature.
He and his Druids fight to protect the wonders of nature and crush those who would seek to ruin it.
His realm is on the border of Daratrine's realm, it is a place of great and powerful nature. It is full of groves and places where nature's beauty abounds.
Illista appears as a human female with raven black hair. She is good tempered and always willing to have a laugh. She adorns herself in leather armor, dyed black. Her attitude is pleasant. She enjoys a joke, but will not hesitate to lift your purse if she sees an opening.

Lyath
Lyath is a Female Human with orange-red hair. She dresses in a long, Silver dress of elven make. She constantly is mediating the never ending conflict between her Siblings.
The realm of Lyath is a peaceful glade at the heart of a storm. This is a place where she tends to those who feel they have been wronged in life.
Nekros
Nekros is the third god in the High Triumvirate. He appears in many forms: the reaper of souls, the Executioner, The Dark Lord, the Shadow, the hooded man, the beggar, The Deal Maker, the shepherd of lost souls, and the heretic.

His realm is a theater in which his followers practice the theatrical arts to trick and deceive and create the most astounding dramas.
Snargath
Snargath is the god of vile creatures. He created and holds these creatures to be the ideal form of life. He appears to be the hybrid of a goblin, a kobold, and a ratperson.
His realm is a squalid lair of filth and corruption. It is the perfect heaven for the creatures who go there upon their deaths.

The only other creatures that live in Elysium are the souls of those who worship the gods and the angels who serve them.
