Open Legend Magic Items #2: Weapons and Armor

Well Met Travelers,

I know that I do not usually post on the weekends, but I have been very busy with work this week and was unable to get out my usual three posts, so this is the third post of the week.

A few weeks back, I created this post talking about the Extraordinary Items in Open Legend RPG.

On top of these items that I am creating for a fantasy setting, I will link the community thread for other Extraordinary items from OLRPG.

Now I will get on with the Items.

Arcane Falchion

WL: 4

This golden hilt is carved with the most beautiful motif of one of the ancient Mage-Kings of Highthorn. A Quarter-sized Saphire rests on the guard that when imbued with a small amount of magical energy, a blade of pure arcane energy springs forward, allowing the weapon to function as a falchion.

Properties: Damage (Energy), Deadly 1, Weapon (falchion), Special

Special: This weapon can only be used by a character with at least 1 extraordinary attribute. When this weapon exceeds the defenses of the target by 10 all damage dealt by that attack is lethal.

Armor of the Doom Herald

Legendary

This Chared armor was once the beautiful and regal armor of a paladin, but exposure to hellfire during a crusade into Araqar has twisted the symbols into perverse versions of themselves. A deceased paladin has been trapped within this armor, and he seeks vengeance for his death and to continue his crusade against the darkness. This soul slowly coaxes its wearer into continuing this quest.

Properties: Cursed (Charmed 6), Creation +2, Powerful 1, Armor (Plate), Intelligent

Single-Use Wand of Fireball

WL:6

This charred stick flickers with embers as the potent enchantment that has been lain upon it fights to be broken. Whoever created this wand either placed the enchantment incorrectly or never intended it to last.

Properties: Expendable, Area 15'X15' cube, Energy 6, Damage (Fire)

Leather Armor of Stealth

WL: 5

This black leather armor feels lighter and less substantial than its traditional counterpart. When moving, the leather seems to make no sound and renders the wearer essentially invisible.

Properties: Armor (Leather), Invisibility 5, Powerful 1

Warhammer of Giant Slaying

Legendary Item

This Hammer is clearly of Dwarven make, its shimmering brass head depicts one of the famous battles of the Second Jotun-Dwarvish War. It hums slightly in the presence of Giants and their kin.

Properties: Weapon (Warhammer), Unfailing, Slaying (Giants), Might +4

So, there we have it, 5 magic items for use in combat. If you like these or find a use for them in your own Open Legend Campaign, let me know in the comments below.

Until Next Time,
Farewell and Safe Journeys, Travelers.
